அக்கா/அக்கா sister. The word or phrase அக்கா refers to an older sister. அக்கை என்ற சொல்லும் காலப்போக்கில் தாய்க்கு ஈடான சிறப்பு கருதி, குடும்பத்தின் மூத்த உடன்பிறந்தாளையும் குறிக்கும் சொல்லானது. அம்மை > அவ்வை > அக்கை ( அக்காள்

நீதி - nethi- is the root for the word Ethics

ஒரு மருந்துவ மனையில் " Ethics above all " என்று எழுதி வைக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தது. Ethics என்ற சொல்லுக்கும் தமிழ்ச்சொல் சொல்லுக்கும் தொடர்பு இருக்க வாய்ப்புகள் அதிகம் என்ற நோக்கில் சொல் ஆய்வில் ஈடுபட்டு போது அது உண்மையாகவே இருந்தது. பெரு மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்தேன். நமது தமிழ்ச் சொல்லான நீதி என்ற சொல் ethics என்ற ஆங்கிலச் சொல்லுக்கு மூலமாக உள்ளது நீதி - nēthi  → ethi → Ethic → Ethics நீதி என்பது தர்மத்தைப் பாதுகாப்பது என்று கூறினால் பொருத்தமாக இருக்கும்.
