நீதி - nethi- is the root for the word Ethics

ஒரு மருந்துவ மனையில் " Ethics above all " என்று எழுதி வைக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தது. Ethics என்ற சொல்லுக்கும் தமிழ்ச்சொல் சொல்லுக்கும் தொடர்பு இருக்க வாய்ப்புகள் அதிகம் என்ற நோக்கில் சொல் ஆய்வில் ஈடுபட்டு போது அது உண்மையாகவே இருந்தது. பெரு மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்தேன்.
நமது தமிழ்ச் சொல்லான நீதி என்ற சொல் ethics என்ற ஆங்கிலச் சொல்லுக்கு மூலமாக உள்ளது

நீதி - nēthi  → ethi → Ethic → Ethics நீதி என்பது தர்மத்தைப் பாதுகாப்பது என்று கூறினால் பொருத்தமாக இருக்கும்.

Ethic - Ethos (Greek): character, the guiding beliefs or ideals. (Latin via Greek): moral principles.
இதுபோல் நமது பல தமிழ் சொற்கள் உலக மொழிச்  சொற்களின் மூலமாக உள்ளது.
